Distant Reiki Healing For Your Pet

 Reiki – For Animals

Reiki is a system of natural healing involving the laying-on of hands. Animals may need healing for the following reasons:

·        Pain or shock

·        Following accidents

·        Over-stabled resulting in anger, depression, fear

·        Poor immune system leading to illness, disease

·        Grief, loss or change

·        Injuries

·        Abuse – mental, physical, cruelty

·        Misunderstanding

Reiki works on the part of the body where it is needed most. During treatment, your pet may feel a sense of relaxation and peace. Sometimes, during a treatment, a release of emotions can occur.

The benefits

Reiki is safe

There are no harmful side effects

It is a natural therapy that works on the physical, emotional and mental states.

Works to achieve a balance within the animal

Stimulates cellular tissue repair

Can help with pain relief

Calming and stimulating

Promotes a sense of inner peace and well being

Can be used in conjunction with other therapies

During Treatment

The treatment will begin by me channelling the healing energy from the atmosphere to your pet. I will begin by placing my hands upon his/her shoulder, before moving onto the next part of the body.

Animals have 7 main Chakras (or energy centres) within the body. The treatment targets each of the Chakras to re-balance the energy within them.  Specific injuries or problem areas can also be treated.

During a treatment, your pet may show any of the following:

Narrowing or closing the eyes

Yawning

Droopy bottom lip (horses)

Lowering of the head

Droopy ears

Licking and chewing (horses)

Resting a leg (horses)

Gentle swaying

Drinking

Passing urine/droppings

Deep breaths or sighs

Skin twitching or muscle quivers

Increased stomach noises

Stretching

General agitation

After Care

1.    Following treatment, horses should be turned out for at least 15 minutes. Do not keep the horse in a confined space where he cannot move freely.

2.    Make sure plenty of fresh water is available as it is normal for your pet to drink more on the day of treatment.

3.    For 2 weeks after a treatment, no other treatments ( e.g. massage, acupuncture, phsio, etc).

4.    Do not expose your pet to excessive heat or coldness for 1 week.

5.    No strenuous work for 2 to 4 days following a treatment. Horses - After the first treatment, avoid lungeing, tight circles and jumping.

6.    Try to listen to your pet and assess his reaction to work.

7.    Horses - When riding avoid short reins, work long and low. It’s possible the horse could be stiff as lactic acid releases from the muscles.

8.    Avoid grooming, patting, stroking on the same day as the treatment as this can disturb the animals energy balance.

9.    For two days either side of treatment, (horses - don’t have the horse shod or teeth rasped) or worm.

After treatment, your pet may demonstrate the following:

Discharge from the nose or mouth,

Stronger urine or droppings,

This is completely normal. It is a positive sign that the healing process is working.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your trust and kindness in allowing me to work with your pet. I hope that both of you get something positive out of the experience. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch
