RMS TITANIC

A remembrance box to mark 100 years since the famous Titanic disaster

RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that struck an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York city, and sank on 15th April 1912, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.

I have hand decorated this commemorative box using a framed image of a postcard of the time, as the main feature on the lid. I then used other images of the fateful liner around and inside the box. I have used loads of paper lilies, black paper roses and ivy leaves around the frame.Other embellishments include, gold german scrap foil borders, white beaded trim, black gems, white rose embellishments and a hint of glitter here and there.

Inside the lid I have used a photo of the ship next to a wooden button depicting a bible, a gold anchor button and a framed photo of the Captain, Edward John Smith who sank with the ship on that fateful day in 1912.

The locket on the front has 1912 on the front and an image of a couple clinging to each other on the deck of a ship on the inside.

The interior is lined in black felt.

Item Detail:

I created this scorpion using various wire sculpting & wrapping techniques in 0.4mm diameter gold plated copper wire. He has 2 matt finish gold coloured seed beads to represent his eyes and a loop for hanging as a pendant or decoration. His legs and segment in his stinger are orange/gold coloured seed beads.He stands approx 2cm high to the highest point of his stinger & he's just over 4.5cm long.

Please note that these miniature wire sculptures are intended for decorative or jewellery purposes only and are not suitable for children - thanks!

Please also note that the 50p piece and the lump of unpolished labradorite are merely photo props and to give you an idea of scale - they are not included in the sale :)

Item Detail:

My scorpions are well trained & I've yet to receive a report of any of them stinging their new owners! I created this little fella using various wire sculpting & wrapping techniques in 0.6mm diameter red enameled copper wire. He has 2 black lined red seed beads to represent his eyes and a loop for hanging as a pendant or decoration. His legs and segments in his stinger are black twisted bugle beads, jointed with the same black lined red seed beads. He stands approx 4cm high to the highest point of his stinger & he's just over 6cm long.

Item Details:I wouldn't recommend wearing aluminium chain mail on the battlefield, but in jewellery it looks pretty cool & it's super lightweight too - bonus!

This anklet comes from my "If You Can't Play It, Wear It!" Collection and features the ball ends from bass guitar strings hanging down from the ankle chain in 7 triangular patterns. Each ring is handwoven into the chain mail pattern, opening and closing them individually using 2 pairs of pliers. This pattern is known as European 4 in 1.

It's approx 10.5" long & I've added a silver tone extender chain of just over 2" in length for the larger ankled, or for wearing on the outside of boots, as it's not really the weather for bare ankles/legs right now!
